China's exporters fret over Trump tariffsWith the eyes of the world on Washington to this week’s rapid-fire trade discussions between China and the United States, none are more concentrated than people of Chinese exporters that are increasingly worried about the effects of more tariffs. Donald Trump in the weekend increased the pressure on Beijing, saying he would more than twice punitive tariffs on $200 billion of imports if China’s top trade negotiator, Vice Premier Liu Heis currently in Washington for the meeting. Businesses making their products in China are already hurting under US punitive duties imposed annually and insiders at a number of them told AFP that Trump measures would induce them to relocate production and lay off staff.
